Szűrővizsgálatot ajándékba?

hazipatika.com – Daganatos megbetegedések tekintetében hosszú ideje negatív rekorder Magyarország, a legtöbb életet a tüdőrák, a vastag- és végbélrák, illetve az emlőrák követeli. A korai diagnózis ezeknél a betegségeknél elengedhetetlen, szerencsére azonban nő a szűrővizsgálatok népszerűsége.

A daganatos megbetegedések a 21. század egyik legnagyobb egészségügyi kihívását jelentik világszerte, hazánk ráadásul az egyik legsúlyosabban érintett országok egyike. A Gazdasági Együttműködési és Fejlesztési Szervezet (OECD) adatai szerint Magyarországon a legmagasabb a daganatos megbetegedések okozta halálozási arány egész Európában. Férfiak esetében a tüdőrák, illetve vastag- és végbélrák, nőknél pedig az emlőrák követeli a legtöbb életet, és a statisztikákat még az innovatív egészségügyi fejlesztések és a diagnosztikai módszerek rohamos fejlődése sem képes kellő mértékben javítani. Az egyik legnagyobb gond, hogy az orvoshoz későn jut el a beteg, amikor a daganat már olyan előrehaladott stádiumba jutott, ami szűkíti a kezelési lehetőségeket.

Fontos a korai diagnózis

Emlőrák, tüdőrák, illetve vastagbélrák esetén kiemelten fontos a korai diagnózis, mellyel jó esélye van a betegnek a teljes felépülésre. Magyarországon a rossz egészségügyi mutatók ellenére is viszonylag kevés az országos szűrőprogramok száma (ennek egyike az OEP-finanszírozású emlőrák-program), a magánszférára így oroszlánrész hárul a feladatból. “Bár a statisztikák szerint sajnos még mindig nagyon rossz a helyzet itthon, mi úgy látjuk, hogy egyre több az egészségtudatos ember, aki tisztában van a megelőzés fontosságával. Összességében egyre többen keresik fel klinikáinkat is egy-egy szűrővizsgálat miatt” – mondta el Leitner György, az Affidea Diagnosztika vezérigazgatója.

A cég 1991-ben hozta létre első képalkotó diagnosztikai központját – akkor még Nemzetközi Egészségügyi Központ Kft. néven – az elmúlt 25 év alatt pedig az ország legnagyobb képalkotó diagnosztikai szolgáltatójává nőtte ki magát. A cég által kialakított szűrőcsomagok nem csak a páciens nemét és életkorát veszik figyelembe, de például azt is, hogy bizonyos káros szenvedélyek vagy életmódbeli sajátosságok miatt milyen daganattípusokra lehet hajlamos az adott személy.

Ajándék is lehet egy szűrővizsgálat

“Fontos, hogy időnként álljunk meg és gondolkodjunk el, hogy milyen az életritmusunk, a környezetünk, mik azok a hatások, amelyek veszélyeztethetik az egészségünket. Az autóját is elviszi az ember rendszeresen, bizonyos megtett kilométerenként a szervizbe, nem csak akkor, ha már alig fog a fék, vagy csöpög az olaj. Ugyanígy testünk számára is fontos a megelőzéshez időnként egy-egy ilyen állapotfelmérés” – hangsúlyozta Dr. Kardos Lilla. Az Affidea vezető orvosigazgatója szerint is egyre nő az érdeklődés a szűrővizsgálatok iránt, és szerencsére nem csak magunk, de környezetünk irányába is figyelmesebbek vagyunk.

Előfordult, hogy egy fiatalember a menyasszonyának rendelt szűrővizsgálatot születésnapi ajándékként, mert hasznosabbnak ítélte az ékszernél, utazásnál, vagy az ilyenkor szokásos ajándékoknál. Az orvosigazgató szerint fontos, hogy hosszú távú befektetésként gondoljunk az egészségünkre, amely a megfelelő életmód mellett busásan megtérül.

AFFIDEA in HUNGARY

Following the change in the political system at the beginning of the 1990’s,  entrepreneurs Joseph Priel and János Mészáros approached the Hungarian Government with an original idea — setting up a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging center backed by foreign investors with the services being sold to the State and the patients getting treatment free-of-charge. This would solve several pressing needs – introducing the latest technologies to the healthcare sector, training and upgrading doctors’ expertise by working on updated equipment, and providing services on a nonstop basis to the entire population.
After one year developing the concept, the Hungarian government, supported by the Parliament’s Healthcare Committee and the Health Insurance Fund, agreed to roll it out. On 18 October, 1991, Israeli investor Elbit Medical Imaging Ltd. opened Central Europe’s first private diagnostic center – the International Medical Center (IMC) at the MAV Korhaz in Budapest (the hospital of the Hungarian National Railway Service).

After two years of successful operation the company opened the second multi-modality radiological diagnostic center (IMC Szeged) in the Medical University of Szeged in 1993. The center qualified as a training site for the university, which was a significant step to securing a strong reputation in the medical community. In the same year, Elbit formed a new company, together with a partner from Singapore, Elbit Eagle East Europe (4E). The company participated in the privatisation of OMKER Rt, the market leader in medical supplies, and became a major shareholder in the company.

In 1996, a third large diagnostic center opened in the County Hospital of Gyor. After leaving the management of the Elbit companies in Hungary, Joseph Priel formed the Euromedic Group of companies together with Red Sea Group Ltd. (an Israeli Property and Trading company). The group began providing services to hospitals in pharmaceutical, diagnostics and medical supplies, and became a major partner in the hospital supply chain in Hungary.

In 1998, Euromedic and Elbit activities were merged into a joint company. The management decided to build and open satellite centers functionally connected to its chain of large multimodality centers. Four such centers were opened over the following years — in Oroshaza (1998), in Cegled (1999), in Hodmezovasarhely (2000), and in Hatvan (2001).
In December 2002, IMC Szeged won the tender for the privatization of the diagnostic services at the Medical University of Debrecen. The concession was granted for 15 years. This achievement was a milestone in the privatization of the Hungarian healthcare sector, since it was the first time a private company had been granted the right to operate the entire radiological diagnostic department of a state institution.

In October 2004, the company won the tender for the privatization of the Radiological and Nuclear Medicine Department of Szeged Medical University. The concession was granted for 25 years.

In July 2008, the company acquired Labscreen Diagnostics Group from Siemens in Hungary. The group consisted of three diagnostic centers – two Computerized Tomography centers located in Peterfy Hospital and Karolyi Hospital in Budapest and a multimodality center in the county hospital of Salgotarjan. Labscreen was established in 1996 by Siemens.

In December 2008, the company won the public tender to provide radiological and nuclear medicine services for the Central Budapest geographical area (700,000 inhabitants) located in Peterfy Sandor Hospital and Trauma Center, one of the largest hospitals in the city with more than 1,600 beds. This multimodality center is Euromedic’s 12th diagnostic center in Hungary.
Budapest Trauma Center provides a wide range of diagnostic services (7 days a week/24 hours per day) including: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computerized Tomography (CT), Angiography, Ultrasound, Mammography, X-Ray, Radiological Intervention and Nuclear Medicine. The center performs hundreds of thousands of Radiological Trauma investigations annually.

In May 2009, a state-of-the-art Radiological center in Budapest, Hungary was opened.

In June 2011, the first stand-alone diagnostic imaging center in the Mammut II shopping mall for private patients was opened.

In January 2013, the 8 slice CT at the Military Hospital was upgraded to a GE Healthcare Discovery VCT 64. With this replacement the unit became fully equipped for non-invasive cardiological diagnostics.

The center in the Károlyi Hospital moved to the Nyírő Gyula Hosptial in March 2013.

Operation of the Radiology Department was handed over to the Albert Schweitzer Hospitaltiat , Hatvan in July 2013.

The name of Euromedic Diagnostics Ltd. was changed to Diagnoscan Magyarország. The reason for the change was that the 22-year international imaging diagnostic network wanted to focus more on Hungary, the people living here, and the local institutions. This name change was announced at the end of October 2013.

In January 2015, Euromedic international rebranded to the new company name of Affidea.

In June 2015, Diagnoscan’s contract with the hospital in Salgotarján ended successfully and the radiological centre was handed back to the hospital administration.
Diagnostics Division

Today the company operates 11 radiological diagnostic centers under the brand name Diagnoscan Magyarország. The centers in Budapest and Gyor are privately owned by Affidea and sell their services to the Health Insurance Fund. The company operates centers by a contributory contract with the universities in Debrecen and Szeged. Operations are financed with the local hospitals in Cegled, Oroshaza and Peterfy through the university/hospitals, thus creating a unique combination of a private healthcare entity which is fully integrated into the public healthcare system.

Diagnoscan Magyarország represents more than one third of the market as the largest operator in Hungary.
